Birdseye Maple
Birdseye maple, one of the rarest kinds of wood on the planet. It has a distinctive pattern that looks like small swirling eyes disrupting the smooth lines of grain. Birdseye maple isn't a species of maple, but a phenomenon that occurs within several kinds of timber. No one knows the exact cause for this texture, but guesses are the wood's reaction to a fungal or viral infection, climate change, soil conditions, or simply birds pecking at the wood. This wood has a medium density and variable color.
Birdseye maple is a refind high end choice used in such products as Rolls Royce dashboards, guitars, and humidors.
