The construction is of Solid Wood there is no particle board or simulated wood. The piece is very sturdy and will not fall apart on you after you move it a couple times.

The drawer pulls are carved using old world tooling but the finish is absolutely modern. Measurements The outside dimensions are 44" Side to Side 32-1/2" Front to Back 72" Tall. The inside drawer measurements are 40" Side to Side 30" Front to Back and 2" High. The inside drawer measurements are based on the actual useable space. There are 4 cubbies up top with just over 9" Wide and 36" High usable space for work in progress rolled up blueprints.
